HBO Business IT & Management
Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA)
At the HvA I work in project teams for real clients. That's where I learned project management, how to collaborate, and how to communicate clearly with people who aren't technical.
I chose this study because I'm interested in computers, software and business services. I had little IT experience when I started, and that turned out not to hold me back.
What I bring
Fast learner, and productive
I take in a lot of information quickly and work hard, fast and well.
Multilingual and patient
I grew up speaking Cantonese, English and Dutch. When I don't understand something, I keep going until I do.
Technical and helpful
I program in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python, and I like helping people who are stuck.
Goal-oriented and independent
Before I start, I set a goal and make a plan. I try to solve problems myself before I ask for help.
Next
Work
I want to work in IT, somewhere between IT management and IT security. That's where my interests overlap.
Sustainability
IT shouldn't only grow, it should help the world use less. Automation that saves cost also saves energy, and that's the kind of work I want to do.
Free time
Outside study and work I hang out with friends, train, game, and build things with my hands. I've been in the water since I was small, and swimming is still how I reset.
